Plus, the fill is made from dense PU foam, which is soft yet durable, firm and dimensionally stable, so there is no chance of sagging during the night. Clever design for maximum comfort SIM simply stands for "Self-inflating Mat" and is the ideal compromise between an air-filled trekking mat and a thick 3D basecamp mat. The SIM mat offers a slightly heavier sleeping surface than a pure air mat and also has a slightly larger pack size. On the other hand, it is therefore more comfortable and warmer and can be packed much more compactly than other sleeping mats with an insulating fill.
