Item No.: 502-6790. Featherweight Freerider airbag backpack that offers full mobility on the descent If you’re in the market for an airbag backpack that lets you move freely whilst freeriding, then look no further than the Avabag LiTRIC Freeride 18 from Ortovox. With its body-hugging shape, it’ll fit nicely on descents in deep snow and smoothly follows your every movement. Its wide, flexible hip belt and the soft shoulder straps of the lightweight Clasp Back system are specially adapted for people with shorter backs and you’ll barely notice them. There are holders for skis and a splitboard, a rope holder and pick and pole holders. Plus, it features a circumferential zip that allows you to quickly access the main compartment. Thanks to the use of the light and abrasion-resistant fabrics, it reduces the overall weight of the backpack. Easy to use LiTRIC electronic airbag system - quickly rechargeable Even in the most difficult situations, the LiTRIC electronic airbag system can be triggered easily. It offers the greatest possible safety and can be released multiple times. The release handle’s lever can be adjusted to your liking. Thanks to the design of the handle, it won’t get triggered on accident. With the battery switched on, the runtime is about 60 hours, regardless of the temperature and weather, so you’ll have enough buffer on longer tours without having to recharge it.  A quick charge only takes about 25 minutes and is possible via a USB-C cable and a power bank. The LiTRIC module system can be combined in a variety of ways** This is what the future of freeriding looks like: two freeride packsacks of different sizes can be zipped onto the airbag base, which is specially designed for off-piste skiing. The only thing you need to look out for is that the back lengths are the same. The Zip-On bags of the Tour line are also compatible, so you can select the Zip-On module you need depending on the activity. You can choose the compact version for a day of skiing in the backcountry with lift support, or the more voluminous for longer adventures. All the features at a glance: Back length: short (36-44 cm) Volume: 16 litres Weight: 2,330 g Material: 400D ripstop polyamide; 100% recycled; 245 g/m² Snug-fitting Comfort Back System for more freedom of movement Height-adjustable chest strap with an integrated emergency whistle Safety leg loop with a special tested aluminium carabiner Electric airbag system LiTRIC: extremely light, easy to operate, with multiple release option No more changing cartridges, as was the case with earlier airbag systems. Just charge it with a USB-C cable Lithium-ion battery with a long lifespan works regardless of temperature (-30°C to 45°C) and weather conditions Operating time of the battery (switched on): approx. 60 hours - so there is no need to recharge it even on multi-day tours When switched off, the power of the battery is retained for approximately one month Duration of a quick charge of the battery: approx. 25 mins LED display of the airbag system can be seen in bright sunlight Height-adjustable activation handle with protection against false activation, e.g. by getting stuck Separate security compartment with quick access prevents you from losing time in case of an emergency Emergency card Avalanche organiser Ski/snowboard holder Ice axe and pole holder Helmet net Card slot Key clip Compatible with CLASP back protector Info on the LiTRIC modular system: The bag is zipped onto the LiTRIC Avabag base (Freeride or Tour line) with a nearly invisible zip. This lets you get several avalanche airbags at a reasonable price. You can easily change the bag depending on the length of the tour. The Avabag LiTRIC Freeride and Tour lines differ mainly in their carrying systems: for descents in rough terrain, the Clasp Back of the Freeride line ensures a good body contact. The lightweight Full Contact Light Back System of the Tour line offers comfort on long tours. Both back units are available in two different lengths each. No matter which base you choose, all LiTRIC bags of the same back length can be mounted thanks to the modular system.
